About Makiko
It has been almost 20 years since my arrival to the US in 1997 as an international student to study in Business Administration/Management major. I have been working for Colgate for 15 years in various offices and departments. I love Colgate and its positive spirit. My major roles as an Assistant Director of International Student Services are to advise over 260 international students in immigration matters in compliance with all aspect of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and assist students adjusting their life in the US. In my professional organization, National Association of International Educators (NAFSA), I serve in a leadership team as a Conference Planner for Region 10: NY & NJ. I am so fortunate to be able to say that I love my job and looking forward to come to work every day.

About Jack
I’m originally from Thailand and have been living in New York for over 18 years now. As the coordinator of International Student Services I enjoy getting to meet and help international students from around the world. I obtained my B.A. in economics and premedical biology from Purchase College in Westchester, NY. I utilize the economics aspect in my own Thai rolled ice cream business, Thai ice, which you can see on facebook: @thaiiceNY. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new countries — I have backpacked 12 countries so far — hiking, and watching anime.

About Rose
Hi! My name is Rose Cui and I'm from China. I intend to double major in mathematical economics and computer science. Besides my majors, I am also a huge fan of East Asian literature and am currently involved as a research assistant for the EALL department. In my spare time, I have practices for Chinese Dance Club and LLHR Dance Group (a hiphop and jazz dance group). Dancing, trying and tasting delicious food, getting to know new people, and spending time together with my friends are my favorite things to do. I love our international student family and especially our fantastic OISS team! I love the way the OISS office makes us feel warm and welcomed and the way it makes our experiences at Colgate the best. I feel so happy and honored to be a member of the OISS office this year, and I am also excited about working with or meeting many great people internationally. If you ever see me on campus, please don't hesitate to say hi to me, and I promise I will greet you back enthusiastically!

About Ruoyu
I am Tony, and I am majoring in math and the classics. I am from Tianjin, China. I understand that first coming to the United States and adjusting to the culture and life here can be difficult. OISS to me is a place full of warmth and I can talk to everyone here without any concern or fear. I want to work in OISS because I feel home here and I want to offer to other international students what others have offered to me. It is a rare opportunity to work with students all over the world, and I want to seize this opportunity to meet new people and learn about their culture and life.
