What We Do
The mission of Colgate Outdoor Education is to provide Colgate students with leadership, wellness, personal growth, sense of place, and community-building opportunities through outdoor and experiential programs.
In addition, our community values sustainability, diversity and inclusion, safety, and improvement.
We support Colgate's mission to help students:
- Prepare for lives of leadership and productive citizenship
- Develop the skills to participate in a lifetime of healthy activity
- Develop personal potential and experience the cohesion of shared purpose
Outdoor Education offers a variety of outdoor and experiential programs, all taking place in some of the region's most beautiful natural settings. We also have several facilities and options right here on campus.
Regardless of skill level, we want to get you outside and help you learn and have fun!
A few of our options include:
Right on campus you can climb at the Angert Family Climbing Wall
or rent equipment for your next adventure at our Equipment Rental Center
Within a couple miles of campus you can take a boat out on the water at the Glendening Boathouse
, or book a stay in our rustic yurt
