Mosaic: Engaging Colgate’s multicultural community

Mosaic

Mosaic strengthens ties with and within Colgate’s multicultural community to develop a lifetime of engagement.

Mosaic Weekend

March 25, 2017

This powerful weekend offered students the opportunity to connect with alumni, who shared their stories of successfully navigating the transition from college student to professional as a person of diversity. The Mosaic Advisory Board met with administrators to discuss topics of multicultural engagement, and T.J. Holmes, journalist and television personality, delivered the Mosaic keynote in the Memorial Chapel.
Colgate created Mosaic — a team of students, alumni, faculty, and staff — to help coordinate and communicate the activities of various university organizations that serve alumni and students of color.

Mosaic:
  • Sponsors programming on and off campus to engage students and alumni of color
  • Strengthens career development opportunities for multicultural students
  • Keeps alumni of color informed on topics of diversity and inclusion at Colgate
  • Offers strategies to Colgate’s administration to increase a sense of belonging among the university’s multicultural community
